Mental Health Counselor
Aseelah Knighten is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is a native of New Yok City where she began her career working as a school counselor. Aseelah was active in crisis counseling after the 911 tragedy to elementary school age children. She is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University where she obtained her bachelor’s in psychology and obtained a Master of Arts and Science in Counseling from Webster University. Aseelah has over 22 years of experience that range from working in a school setting, women’s domestic violence shelter, department of juvenile justice, sex offender commitment program, and several residential treatment programs. Her clinical and therapeutic treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, and Group Therapy. Aseelah has since made Florida her home and has three children who she is navigating to the next chapter of their lives. Aseelah decided early that the helping profession was necessary to make a positive impact in people lives. Aseelah in her free time she likes to go walking, travel, and spend time with her family.
