Drug Rehab in Jupiter, Florida

One of the hallmarks of substance use disorder (SUD) is the feeling of isolation. By feeling alone, you start to think that nobody is rooting for you or that there’s no hope around the corner. As true as those two statements may seem right now, they are not true. At all. Tikvah Lake, a residential drug rehab facility conveniently located in the Jupiter, Florida area, is proof positive of that.

Our staff has developed optimal processes and treatments to help clients get past SUD. We only succeed if you succeed in treatment. Asking for help can be challenging, but we promise it’s worth it. We’re ready if you’re ready to get started with our residential program. Call us at 1-833-785-9844 for more information on enrolling at Tikvah Lake.

What is a Residential Drug Rehab?

When you hear the words drug rehab or think about treatment for SUD, you might envision regular appointments with talk therapists. Treatment that involves receiving care at a medical professional’s office and then going home for the day is referred to as outpatient care. Outpatient care works for some people, but we treat clients who need a little bit more involvement from staff members.

Tikvah Lake is a residential treatment center where clients usually stay overnight for 10, 30, or 90 consecutive days. Another way to describe residential treatment is inpatient care. Inpatient treatment for SUD or co-occurring mental health conditions is a good fit for clients who may be tempted to use substances at home. Residential treatment means clients have 24/7 access to staff members.

The Importance of Detoxification

Before you start talk therapy or even create a treatment plan, you must detox from any substance you’re actively using. Detox means that your body is ridding itself of drugs or alcohol so that you’re no longer intoxicated. The other side of detox is managing withdrawal symptoms, which may occur after you stop using a substance you have been taking for a long time.

In rare cases, withdrawal symptoms can be life-threatening. That usually happens only when someone has been using an extremely high amount of a substance for years. Withdrawal symptoms, which can involve agitation, anxiety, insomnia, sweating, or loss of appetite, are normally uncomfortable to the point that you may be very tempted to resume substance use. Still, the safest way to detox from drugs or alcohol is by doing so under close supervision of medical professionals. Our staff will do everything possible to minimize your withdrawal symptoms so you can move on to the next phase of residential treatment.

Three Phases of Residential Care

The purpose of detoxification is to get clients stabilized. Once clients get stabilized, we can begin helping them build the foundation of their treatment plan.

You won’t immediately jump into intensive talk therapies as soon as you walk through our facility’s doors. Our staff will first walk you through our facility and acquaint you with its many amenities. We want the center to feel as much like home as possible.

As you get used to your physical surroundings, you will work with our staff to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses any mental health conditions you may have on top of SUD. The initial client assessment will leave no stone unturned if you suspect you may have a mental health condition but have never been formally diagnosed.

Once you and the staff have come up with a treatment plan, you’ll start with one-on-one therapies and psychoeducation. During this phase, you’ll find out more about the mechanisms behind SUD and the ways SUD can influence your thoughts and behaviors. You’ll also move on to Step Two of either Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous.

Besides moving on to Step Three of your respective 12-Step Plan, your main focus in the third and final phase will be gaining the skills you need to manage cravings in the outside world. The key to long-term sobriety and recovery is realizing the power within yourself to replace substance use with healthier behaviors.

Continue Thriving with Aftercare

Before leaving the facility, our staff will discuss Tikvah Lake’s aftercare program and its benefits in helping clients maintain sobriety. We want to ensure that you are stepping into a stable home and work environment. Just as importantly, we want you to have a full understanding of the tools and coping strategies needed to stay on the sober side of SUD. It’s impossible to live a life free from all temptations, but we will do everything possible to set you up for long-term success.
